Rob and Karen Sisson serve in Clark County, Washington, home to approximately 460,000 people. The area is greatly influenced by the cities of Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon, and is also a short drive from farmlands, rivers, forests, and rural areas. Clark County truly is a beautiful piece of God’s creation!
Residents of this area are as diverse as the landscape. There is a mix of languages, socio-economic statuses, occupations, and religions. Like much of the United States, there is a general understanding of God, but failure to embrace the relational aspects of the gospel. An awakening to the fact that God is real and wants a relationship with each person is greatly needed.
After seeing the need in their community, the Sissons began a number of ministries to spread the gospel. Some of these ministries include home and church Bible studies, camping ministry, youth/adult outreaches, and senior adult ministry. Rob has also served as pastor of a local church in Clark County.
Rob and Karen are also in the process of beginning an encouragement and training ministry for church leaders. By developing a study guide for those already in ministry, the Sissons hope to equip leaders for ministry both in the church and in the community.
With a recent move to a new church, Rob and Karen are looking forward to new opportunities for ministry. "We are excited about all the new possibilities now that we are attending Columbia Community Bible Church in north Portland. Pulpit supply and object lessons are always fun."
The Sissons have served as InFaith field staff since 1996.
Rob and Karen have three adult children and eight grandchildren. They came to InFaith through Jack DuMars and Cocolalla Lake Bible Camp. For ten of the past twenty years, the Sissons have ministered through pastoring small churches.
