Eastern Kentucky is a mountainous region right in the Bible Belt. The church is a tradition in Kentucky culture; however, many do not understand what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
There are several issues in the community such as generational poverty, drug abuse, joblessness, and obesity which have plagued the area for years. Jeremy and Carolyn’s heart is to reach and stand in the gap for those in the most troubling circumstances.
After seeing the lost souls and the brokenness in eastern Kentucky, it became clear to the Holts that they needed to start reaching out to their community. Jeremy pursues at-risk youth through school, sports, and youth ministry with the hopes of leading them to Christ and helping them become more like Christ. Carolyn has a passion to come alongside young women and girls in the community to minister to them through one-on-one mentorship, daily interactions that bring hope and living the example of a Christ-centered life.
Along with reaching youth, Jeremy and Carolyn plan to assist churches who are struggling to find leadership, teach classes at a Christian boarding school, lead worship at church, and get involved with summer camp ministry.
The Holts have served as InFaith field staff since 2019.
Jeremy was born and raised in central Minnesota with his three sisters by his loving parents. He became an approved candidate with InFaith in 2019.
Carolyn was raised in a Christian military family and is grateful for the many experiences that she had going to different places and meeting different people. Carolyn became an approved candidate with InFaith in 2020.
Jeremy has achieved his master’s degree in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship and Carolyn is pursuing her master’s in Christian Counseling.
