Phyllis Eggan serves in rural, off-the-beaten-track towns in the foothill region of northern California. These small communities consist of mainly low-income families with many needs. More and more of the children in these communities have not heard the gospel message, and transportation to and from children’s ministries is often difficult. Local churches often cannot afford to hire full-time pastors, and are in need of volunteers to help run ministries to local families.
After seeing the need in her community, Phyllis began assisting and encouraging small, rural churches around her. Filling in gaps in the churches’ children and youth ministries as best she can, Phyllis takes the time to encourage, train, and teach. “My goal is to stay until someone else takes over the ministry,” she explains.
Phyllis has served as InFaith field staff since 1984.
Phyllis grew up in an InFaith Sunday school and camp. She is a graduate of Sacramento Bible Institute, and started ministry as a volunteer before joining InFaith.
