Summary

We are looking for a program director to join a youth center ministry in Kearney, Nebraska. This is an opportunity to impact the lives of children and youth through job training, academic & emotional support, recreation, and spiritual guidance. The candidate will be primarily responsible for day-to-day operations and program development and implementation. The ministry has a very well established presence in the community, including a connection with the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s student service learning program. The candidate will be involved in long-term visioning and planning with the hope of eventually taking over the Executive Director position. While temporary housing during relocation may be available, this position requires raising full support.

  • Assess, strategize and implement appropriate ministry activities
  • Recruit, train and lead volunteers
  • Partner with churches and ministries in the area
  • Maintain the grounds including lawn care, landscaping and snow removal
  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness
  • A love and desire to work with children, youth and their families
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated with strong computer skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Proficient in scripture
  • Ability to raise support
  • 3-5 years administrative experience, a plus
  • CDL license, a plus

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree; or 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of college-level Biblical studies preferred.
